Drug-Free Pet Pain Relief with the Assisi Loop

When your Tripawd is hurting, it’s critical to act fast. Work with your vet to pinpoint the cause and create action steps for immediate relief. Many times, Tripawds need a combination of western and eastern pet pain relief modalities. For many pet parents, the Assisi Loop is also part of the plan.

The Assisi Loop Works for Pet Pain Relief

The Assisi Loop is a clinically-proven device that uses targeted pulsed electromagnetic fields to help speed healing and give pain relief to animals and humans alike. For more than a year we’ve been hearing lots of great things about it from pet parents and veterinarians alike. Even the renowned veterinary pain management expert Dr. Mike Petty uses the Assisi Loop in his practice and recommends it to rehab therapists everywhere.

The Assisi Loop provides pain relief for:

  • Wounds
  • Post-Surgical Pain & Swelling
  • Orthopedic Injuries
  • Neurological Issues
  • Inflammatory Conditions
  • Degenerative Disorders

Earlier this year while exhibiting at AAHA, we asked Assisi Animal Products reps to tell us more about how this pet pain relief product works. Kaysie Danneimiller from Assisi took a minute to explain:

Assisi Loop Facts

  • Prescribed by veterinarians and animal rehab therapists.
  • Alleviate pain and inflammation in animals without drugs.
  • Treats directly through wraps, dressings, and casts.
  • Easy to administer at home or in a clinical setting.
  • Uses targeted pulsed electromagnetic field technologies to improve health and healing.
  • Start with three to four 15-minute treatments per day for acute and chronic or degenerative conditions.

We haven’t tried the Assisi Loop ourselves (and we are not being compensated to write about it), but we’re curious about its results. Thankfully, longtime Tripawds members the Oaktown Pack are currently putting the loop into practice to alleviate arthritis. Their packmate Smokey B is pictured above. The Oaktown Pack promises to report back soon on how it worked for him, so watch this blog for an update.

Meanwhile, if you’re interested in trying the Loop for your Tripawd, be sure to check out the Assisi Loop website. They have tons of great information ready for review in the Pet Owners section of their website, including what you need to know to get the Assisi Loop for your animal.

  1. Geez you guys, sorry it took us so long to respond here! We were really excited to try this new pain relief tool but unfortunately the Assisi Loop did not work for Smokey B, who has had arthritis in his elbow for years, with an increasingly bad limp. We applied the loop as directed, 2-3 times a day for 15 minutes, for a total of about 6 weeks. Suggested protocol is 2-3X/day for 4 weeks and then you can reduce usage to a maintenance level, we extended the protocol to 6 weeks at the recommendation of an Assisi loop representative who called to see how it was going at around 4 weeks in–when I said we were not seeing any effect yet she indicated that chronic pain (as opposed to surgery recovery or acute injury) can take longer to respond to treatment. However, even after 6 weeks it had no effect on his limping whatsoever. That said, we have tried many things to alleviate his limp–stem cell therapy, laser therapy, every nsaid known to dawg, and acupuncture and nothing has worked for Mr. Bear. The last orthopedist we went to suggested that perhaps Smokey’s limp was more mechanical than a pain response but it is pretty difficult to suss out the difference.

We tried the loop on Austin as well for a brief time, not long enough to see a difference, but by that point it was running out of juice. So at this time we can’t really give the Assisi Loop a thumbs up but, because Smokey’s limp has been so intractable across all the treatments we have tried, we would not rule out trying the Loop with our other dogs. Personally, I think I would wait for more data on its efficacy though. Also, be advised that the loop does not last forever–it provides @150 treatments, which, at the initial level of use, would last about 1 1/2 to 2 months. So if you need it for long-term use be aware that you may need to keep purchasing new loops over time.

  2. I bought the loop per my vet for my tripawd as with her age all the remaining limbs are showing more issues then when she had all her legs. I too didn’t see any obvious results but my problem is I have so many areas to treat (elbow, ankles, rump, spine) and only being able to use the device every 2 hours I cannot get enough time with the loop in any given area (I try to treat what I think is the current weak spot). I still use the loop for my cat who has vestibular issues (not sure if it is helping but I used it when she isn’t feeling well). What is working for me for the ankles is back on track braces. It is a fabric with ceramic creating warmth to reduce inflammation. This does work. After only a couple of hours dr could feel difference in ankles. I bought the mesh coat to help with spine and rump and am thinking of buying the blanket for when she is laying on our bed or couch. I also use AnimalEO essential oils (Any-It is and New Mobility diluted on elbow and ankles. Considering hydrotherapy. We get acupuncture weekly and she sees a homeopathic vet too 🙂
